Grievance procedures for staff and students
Discrimination, harassment, or vilification on the basis of gender identity or sexuality is both unlawful and contrary to University policy. UWA is committed to showing leadrship in the area of gender and sexuality awareness, and seeks to be an example in this context. Actions such as flying the UWA flag at the Pride Parade are important in demonstrating UWA's strong position on equity and appreciation of diversity in this regard.
The Ally Network is primarily a culture changing program about increasing awareness around sexual diversity; it is designed to complement existing policies within the University and is NOT a Grievance Scheme.
Students or staff members who feel that they have been discriminated against on the basis of sexual orientation or gender should contact an Equity and Diversity Adviser.
